Course Description Intermediate Formation Evaluation Training

Integration of formation evaluation data with core, seismic, geology and production data. Fundamental competencies using deterministic formation evaluation methods are established. Dip and image logs uses are discussed for reservoir characterization studies.
MDT and RFT tools and interpretations and reservoir compartmentalization issues are discussed.
Various log in interpretation and reservoir characterization exercises are completed using spreadsheets.

Topics Covered Pelatihan Intermediate Formation Evaluation

  •     Quick-look methods are expanded to include deterministic and probabilistic evaluations. Various tools such as NMR, image logs, dipmeters, production surveillance and other special interest devices are introduced.
  •     LWD and MWD concepts are discussed and compared to wireline logs, Quality assurance of data and interpretations are emphasized throughout the week.
  •     Physics of the measurements along with practical discussion of the theory will allow each participant to follow simple procedures for the rapid and accurate interpretation of logs
  •     Learning objectives of intermediate formation evaluation include:
  •     Improve estimates of intrinsic reservoir properties such as porosity, permeability, residual fluids, and lithology.
  •     Integrating pressure, fluid properties and depositional information into the petrophysical analysis for improved saturation predictions.
  •     Define Vsh and Vcl and define shaley sand analysis methods.
  •     Understand how dip/image logs are used in reservoir studies.
  •     Introduce probabilistic formation evaluation methods.
  •     Provide participants a practical guide to using mechanical rock properties.
  •     Show how reservoir compartmentalization and the MDT/RFT data are critical components in reservoir characterization studies.
  •     To accomplish the learning objectives, which are set for each day, attendees are given hands-on problems and exercises with field examples to reinforce the course instruction.
